As co-founder of TMPL, a new skincare brand created to address the needs and concerns of men of colour, I played a crucial role in establishing the brand since it’s initial launch in 2021. The brand quickly grew a cult following as men and women alike gravitated towards our unique brand promise of “self-care for the mandem” and was featured in numerous global media outlets including British GQ, Wallpaper* and BBC Dragon’s Den.
With early investment secured and in the lead up to launching a new and improved product range, we felt the timing was right for a rebrand in order to firmly position TMPL as a brand fit for the culture.
We rebranded Temple as TMPL, modernising the original spelling while staying true to our core ethos of "your body is your temple". For the logo I designed a bold new logotype set in all caps to exude strength and confidence.
The new brand identity conveys a bold new attitude towards modern masculinity and unapologetically celebrates the diversity of men with melanated skin.
The new packaging boasts a clean minimal aesthetic and is designed with functionality in mind for quick and easy use. I teamed up with the talented videographer and photographer Andre Modeste Humphrey to capture our new campaign creative – models were cast from our social media community and were selected to showcase a range of skin tones and ethnicities.
The site features rich video content, a clean, minimal interface, and clear call-to-actions for a seamless shopping experience.
I designed the user experience to strategically direct site visitors towards our bestselling bundles and subscription purchases. This approach delivered the best value and end-user experience for customers while also boosting bottom-line revenue and customer life-time value for the business.
